PJSC "Krasny Kotelshchik" Equipped the Production with New Control Equipment

The Taganrog Boiler-Making Works “Krasny Kotelshchik” (TKZ) has procured five portable spectrometers. Modern equipment has replaced 25 obsolete and worn-out steeloscopes, the life of which was more than 30 years.

Portable spectrometers are designed to analyze the chemical composition of materials and components received at the enterprise. These devices are also widely used in checking the quality of production directly at TKZ. In particular, the control of welded joints by means of this equipment is carried out in the Tube Panel Shop, Tube Forging Shop, and Steel Structure Shop.

The new equipment can be used for a wide range of basic materials: high alloy, low alloy and carbon steel. It can analyze the quality of welding wire, check chemical composition of deposited metal. With high accuracy, spectrometers determine the content of elements such as chromium, nickel, copper, molybdenum, etc., which fully complies with the requirements of the modern regulatory framework. The results obtained using these devices are recognized both in Russia and abroad.

This equipment not only guarantees high-precision analysis and eliminates subjective control, but also provides staff mobility. The weight of the spectrometer is 1.3 kg, while the steeloscope with a generator weighed about 25 kg. The necessary analysis can be carried out in any, even inaccessible places. The safety of control personnel is also guaranteed - the spectrometers operate on batteries without connecting to the network.
