The head of the Don region Yuriy Slusar called the practice of "Krasny Kotelshchik" a successful case for other enterprises in the region
The Taganrog Boiler-Making Works "Krasny Kotelshchik" (TKZ) took part in a meeting of the Rostov Region Government dedicated to the strategy for developing the secondary vocational education system until 2030. The works presented its own best practices and proposals for effective cooperation with educational institutions of the region - from career guidance for students to employment of graduates.
On behalf of TKZ, the Head of Personnel Development Department, Natalia Grishchenko, delivered her speech where she raised an issue urgent for the industry: who will come to work for regional enterprises in the next 5-10 years? The speaker believes that responding to this challenge lies in synchronizing business with the educational sector, investing not only in production, but also in the development of human resources.
– Today’s students will determine the technological development of the region tomorrow, administrate production processes and introduce innovations. The sooner enterprises start interacting with them – through excursions, mentoring, practice or internships – the higher the possibility to form a motivated specialist who knows production from the inside and sees long-term prospects in the profession. Working with students is about forming solid bonds between young people and industrial sector, about the future, about the essence, about choosing a life's journey and about the pride with which a young employee will say: “I did it with my own hands,” – notes Natalia Grishchenko.
At the meeting, there was presented the case of “Krasny Kotelshchik” "Training of Personnel for Industry: Demands of Business and Possibilities of the Education System of the Rostov Region". TKZ builds long-range and meaningful partnerships with secondary technical schools and colleges of the region at all stages: from meeting students to their employment.
In 2025, the works took a quantum leap in working with students. What is the secret of the enterprise's success? First of all, the success lies in an individual approach, actual wages, an effective mentoring system, a professional working environment and students' involvement in global tasks to form sustainable energy in Russia.
As of this year, the enterprise introduced paid internships that proved successful. Seventy six students that are currently studying to get the specialty in demand in industry have completed this internship, namely: welder of manual and partially mechanized welding (surfacing), CNC machine operator and turner.
Resulting from the internship, some of the interns expressed their willingness to get a job at TKZ immediately after receiving their diplomas. This fact proves that students aspire working where they have real experience, mentors and prospects. Some of the interns are planning to return to the enterprise after serving in the army. The works is maintaining ties with them and expecting their return. Another ninety students from secondary specialized educational institutions are undergoing industrial training at TKZ.
Acting Governor of the Rostov region Yuri Slyusar called the work of TKZ a successful case and proposed scaling up the practice to other enterprises in the Don region.
